UIDAI allows citizens to verify mobile no, email Id Aadhaar

New Delhi: Keeping user benefits in mind, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has enabled residents to verify their mobile number and email ID with their Aadhaar.

UIDAI noticed that in some cases residents were not aware/sure about which mobile number they have linked with Aadhaar. Hence, residents feared that the Aadhaar OTP might go to a different mobile number. Now with this option, residents can check these quite easily.

The service is available under the “Verify Email/Mobile Number” feature on the official website (https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/) or through the mAadhaar application. It is developed for residents to check if their own email/mobile number is provided with the correct Aadhaar.

This feature confirms to the resident that the e-mail/mobile number they know is housed only for the correct Aadhaar. It also notifies the resident if a particular mobile number is not connected and informs the resident to take the necessary steps to update the mobile number if they wish.

In the event that the mobile number is already verified, the following message appears on the residents’ screen: “The mobile number you provided is already verified in our register”.

In case the resident does not remember his mobile number, he entered the last three digits of his mobile number during enrollment in the Verify Aadhaar function on the Myaadhaar portal or mAadhaar application.

If you want to link a resident’s email/mobile number with Aadhaar or update your email/mobile number, you can visit the nearest Aadhaar center.
