Ukraine conflict: Over 100 injured in fierce fighting after Russian Air Force commandos shot down in Kharkiv

Kharkiv (Ukraine): Today is the seventh day of the war between Russia and Ukraine. Russia is still unwilling to back down from its military campaign against Ukraine, despite strong international criticism.

Russia continues to bomb Ukrainian military bases and residential areas.

However, despite being no match for Russia’s military might, Ukraine is still doing its best to fight the Russian juggernaut.

As the Russian army enters major cities during the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, it is facing fierce resistance from the Ukrainian military in densely built urban areas.

Ukrainian media claimed several explosions were heard in Kharkiv on Wednesday as Russian forces stepped up their offensive on Ukraine’s second-largest city.

According to the Ukrainian military, fierce clashes broke out in Kharkiv after Russian para commandos were shot down in the air in the eastern Ukrainian city.

“Russian airborne troops landed in Kharkiv and attacked a local hospital,” Ukraine’s military said in a statement on the social media platform Telegram.

“The fighting between the invaders and the Ukrainians continues,” the statement said.

Kharkiv’s mayor has claimed that several people died and more than 100 were injured in the city on Wednesday. He also said that Russia has intensified airstrikes on the city.

On Tuesday, the Ukrainian government claimed that Russian forces had begun encircling several Ukrainian cities for a major offensive.

Adviser to the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Erestovich, said that Russian forces are trying to surround Kyiv and Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city.
