Ukraine crisis: 7,42,000 citizens without electricity, 2,38,000 without gas

Kyiv (Ukraine): Amid Russia’s ongoing military operations in Ukraine, 7,42,000 civilians in Ukraine remain without electricity and 2,38,000 without gas, informed the country’s energy ministry.

“According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy, 742 thousand citizens are without electricity and 238 thousand without gas,” NEXTA tweeted.

The Russian military began military operations in Ukraine on 24 February, three days after Moscow recognized the separate regions of Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk, as independent republics, after “demilitarizing” and “rejecting” Ukraine. Announced for a “special military operation”.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s foreign ministry has reported that the country has assisted around 146,000 foreign nationals to leave Ukraine since Russia’s invasion.
