Ukraine crisis: EAM Jaishankar receives phone call from Ukrainian foreign minister

new Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday informed that he received a call from Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba, who shared his assessment of the current situation in the country.

This comes ahead of a crucial vote at the UN Security Council on the Russian attack on Ukraine.

“Received a call from Ukrainian FM @DmytroKuleba. He shared his assessment of the current situation. I emphasized that India supports diplomacy and dialogue. Discussed the plight of Indian citizens, including students. For their safe return. Appreciate their support for the cause,” read a post on the official Twitter handle of the External Affairs Minister.

The United Nations Security Council is about to vote on a draft resolution on Russia’s military operation in Ukraine as well as the escalating situation in the country. The draft resolution is set to strongly condemn Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, which has sparked strong outrage by Western powers.
