UN chief to continue working ‘cooperatively and fully’ with Russia

New York (USA): UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on Friday that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will continue to work “cooperatively and fully” with Russia after launching a special operation in Ukraine.

“The Secretary-General at the United Nations cooperates and works fully with each member state, each member state, and we will continue to do so,” Dujarric said during a press briefing.

Local media reported Friday that several explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital as Russia entered the second day of a special military operation.

On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized separate regions of Ukraine – Donetsk and Luhansk – as independent entities. Later, Putin ordered special military operations to “protect” the people in the Donbass region. Several countries, including the UK, US, Canada and the European Union, have condemned Russia’s military operations and imposed sanctions on Moscow.

Amidst the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, many airlines including Air India are operating special flights to bring back Indian citizens safely. Amidst the tension in the country, more flights are going to be operated from Ukraine (Kiev) in the coming days for Indian citizens.
