Unable to convert our hard work into votes: Priyanka Gandhi on Congress’s performance in UP

new Delhi: In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress fought vigorously to defeat the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but managed to win only two seats. Meanwhile, BJP is coming back to power by winning at least 252 out of 403 assembly seats in the state.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was assigned by her brother Rahul Gandhi nearly four years ago to form the Congress in the state to win the recently concluded assembly elections, but its vote share was just 2.38 per cent.

In a series of tweets, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “In a democracy, people’s vote is paramount. Our workers and leaders worked hard, formed organisations, fought on people’s issues. But, we could not do our best.” Convert hard work into votes.

He further said, “Congress will continue to work for the betterment of Uttar Pradesh and its population while fulfilling its duty and responsibility of the opposition while following the path of positive agenda.”

Vadra had fought the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on a women-centric campaign “Ladki hoon lad shakti hoon”.

Earlier in the day, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s brother Rahul Gandhi had said, “We will learn from this”.

In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi said, “Humbly accept the verdict of the people. Best wishes to those who won the mandate. Thank you to all Congress workers and volunteers for their hard work and dedication. We will learn from this and will continue to work for it. India.” interests of the people.”
