Unilever suspends all imports, exports of products to Russia

Moscow, Russia): Food and consumer goods giant Unilever has suspended all imports and exports of its products to Russia, amid Russia’s ongoing military operations in Ukraine.

Also, the company will stop all media and advertising spending in Russia and says it will not benefit from its presence in Russia, CNN reported.

In a statement, Unilever said, “We will continue to supply our daily essential food and hygiene products made in Russia to people in the country. We will keep this under close review.”

“We join the call to end this war and hope that peace, human rights and the international rule of law will prevail,” it said.

Speaking about its operations in Ukraine, Unilever said, “Our business operations in Ukraine have ceased and we are now fully focused on ensuring the safety of our Ukrainian employees and their families, including when necessary. But helping with their evacuation and providing additional financial support. We have also committed to donating €5m of essential Unilever products to humanitarian relief efforts.”
