According to the Defense Ministry about 194 schools have been registered for affiliation with Sainik Schools Society. These schools will function as a specialized vertical which will be distinct and distinct from the existing Sainik Schools of the Ministry of Defence. In the first phase, it is proposed to have 100 affiliated partners from the States/NGOs/Private Partners.
The objective of this scheme is to provide Sainik School pattern of education to a large section of aspiring students all over the country. Sainik School Society has sent the application forms to all the applicant schools who have registered themselves till 15th January 2022.
The application form needs to be filled through online mode and submitted back to Sainik School Society by 21st January 2022.
The ministry further said that later the schools would be evaluated by the School Evaluation Committee at the district level and the report would be submitted to the Sainik School Society by the last week of January 2022.
“Schools approved by Sainik School Society will start following Sainik School curriculum and activities from the next academic year which is April 2022,” the ministry said in its release.
“The approved schools will be informed separately about other aspects of school management including training of teachers, implementation of sports and other extra-curricular activities,” he said.
The ‘One School One Sport’ philosophy will also be implemented by the new Sainik Schools, the ministry said, to focus and excel at at least one sports discipline for the state where the school is located.
