UP Assembly Election 2022: Amit Shah says Akhilesh Yadav wears specs of religion, caste

Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday hit out at Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, saying the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister wears glasses to reflect religion and caste.

Addressing a rally in Sitapur, Amit Shah said, “I am wearing glasses, can see clearly… Akhilesh Babu also wears glasses through which he sees caste from one glass and religion from another glass. Huh.”

Amit Shah is in the fray among other BJP leaders in Uttar Pradesh to retain his power in the state.

Attacking the previous governments led by opposition parties for the poor law and order situation during their rule, Shah said, “There was a time when the entire country was taunted for the law and order situation of UP. SP-BSP- The law and order situation in UP was bad by Congress. Yogi ji has driven out all the mafia, bahubalis.”

He further said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, there is no ‘Bahubali’ in Uttar Pradesh, but only ‘Bajrang Bali’ now.

“SP, BSP, Congress will do politics of appeasement, insult armed forces, drive out terrorists. While BJP works for the poor, youth, women,” Shah said.

Launching a scathing attack on the SP-BSP regime, Shah said, “Uttar Pradesh was considered the epicenter of terrorism and riots under the SP-BSP regime. The SP-BSP only saw its own caste.”

Appreciating the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Home Minister said that only the Prime Minister’s politics of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ can do good to Uttar Pradesh.

Seven-phase assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh have started from February 10. Voting for the first three phases has been completed and the voting for the remaining phases will be held on February 23, February 27, March 3 and March 7. Counting of votes will take place on March 10. (ANI)
