Uttar Pradesh: The UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) conducted raids in seven districts of UP, including Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, to arrest accused linked to the People’s Front of India (PFI). So far, 70 people have been detained in the raid. A few months ago, the NIA recruited several members of the PFI.

During the raids, two accused, Parvez Ahmed and Rais Ahmed, who were carrying a bounty of Rs 50,000, were arrested from Varanasi, a police statement said.

According to ANI, the UP ATS conducted raids in Lucknow, Meerut, Moradabad, Varanasi, Azamgarh, Saharanpur, Ghaziabad and other cities of the state. About 55 people have been detained so far. UP ATS interrogates 55 persons associated with PFI and its affiliates. ATS also collects information about your bank accounts and financial transactions.

According to a report, even on April 25, action was taken against PFI members in several states, including Uttar Pradesh. In total 17 places were raided by AANI in these states. The People’s Front of India (PFI) was banned by the central government. People associated with the organization were arrested as soon as the ban was ordered.
