UP Elections 2022: SP-RLD alliance announces first list of 29 candidates; check list here


LucknowThe Samajwadi Party-Rashtriya Lok Dal alliance on Thursday announced its first list of 29 candidates for the first phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. According to the list shared on social media by both the parties that announced the alliance last year, out of 29 seats, SP has fielded candidates on 10 and RLD 19.

Sharing the list on his Twitter account, RLD chief Jayant Singh wrote in Hindi, ‘I am sure that all the workers of the alliance will work unitedly in the elections for these candidates with full devotion. Here is the complete list:

Out of the 29 candidates announced on Thursday, RLD’s Babita Devi is the lone woman candidate who will contest from Baldev assembly constituency. Let us inform that there are 9 Muslim candidates in the list, while SP has fielded 6 Muslim candidates and RLD has fielded 3 Muslim candidates.

The above seats fall in the western region of Uttar Pradesh and polling will be held in the first phase on February 10. Polling will be held in the remaining six phases on February 14, 20, 23, February 27 and March 3 and 7. The Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce the fate of the candidates on March 10.
