Vice-presidential election, 2022: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Congress leader arrived in Parliament to cast their votes for the Vice President election.

In addition to the former prime minister, the Union Council of Ministers also appeared in the 2022 VP vote.

Parliament will vote on Saturday for the 2022 vice-presidential election as incumbent Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu’s term expires on August 11. Voting started at 10 am and will continue until 5 pm.

The counting of votes will begin immediately after the voting is over. The results of the 2022 vice-presidential election will also be announced today, and with this the nation will receive its new vice-president.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) nominated West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and the opposition nominated Congress leader Margaret Alva.

Only Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members vote in the Vice President election. Nominated members also participate in this election. That is, a total of 788 votes can be cast in the vice-presidential election. 543 members of the Lok Sabha and 243 members of the Rajya Sabha will vote in this. There are 12 candidates among the Rajya Sabha members.

According to the political equation, NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar is almost certain to be elected as the 14th Vice President of the country. BJP was in a position to single-handedly win Jagdeep Dhankhar in the vice-presidential election. The BJP has 303 members in the Lok Sabha and 91 members in the Rajya Sabha. This number is enough to win the vice presidential election.

Meanwhile, like the presidential election, BJP, YSR Congress, BSP and TDP have announced their support for the NDA candidate in this election. The strength of these parties in both houses is 67. Apart from this, Shiv Sena has at least 13 members with Bijeri in the Lok Sabha. Accordingly, NDA candidate Dhankhar is likely to get more than 65 percent.
