Victory confirms BJP’s pro-poor, proactive governance: PM Modi

new Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the BJP’s impressive performance in the assembly elections was an affirmation of the party’s “pro-poor and proactive governance”.

Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters in the national capital after the party’s record-breaking performance in the assembly elections in four states, PM Modi said his government has ensured that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the poor.

“The results strongly attest to the pro-poor and proactive governance of the BJP. Earlier, people were not able to reach out to governments for basic amenities like electricity, gas and water. Many announcements and schemes were made for the poor, but no such schemes were implemented. The benefits never reached the poor who deserved and needed them. The BJP understands that good governance and delivery of such schemes is very important, and we work to ensure that.”

Appreciating the party’s performance in the states, the Prime Minister said that for the first time in 37 years, a party has come to power in Uttar Pradesh for two consecutive terms. Hit the ‘limit’ of victory, Assembly election results confirm BJP’s active, pro-poor regime: PM Modi

He used the cricket analogy to refer to the party’s victories in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur and said that the party had “crossed the threshold of victory”.

He said, “The hard work of the workers has enabled the party to take it to the extent of victory. UP has given many prime ministers to the country. But this is the first time that a chief minister has been elected for the second time after a full term. ” In Uttar Pradesh, Manipur and Goa where we were in government, there has been an increase in vote share.

PM Modi also praised party workers for “hard work” during the election campaign and said that they have fulfilled their promise of starting Holi celebrations on March 10.

“It is a day of energy and celebration for democracy. The way youth and women have voted for BJP is a message in itself. For the first time voters participated in the polls and voted for BJP. BJP workers Promised me. That Holi will start from March 10. Our workers have fulfilled their promise by registering victory.”
