Big hit: Ponniyin Selvan I and Vikram Vedha
Advance sales for both films are now open and tickets are selling like hotcakes. The presale for the Tamil and Telugu versions of PS I opened on Sunday. While for Vikram Vedha the presale was opened on Saturday. But let’s see which film has the edge on the first day of pre-sales.
It seems PS I is doing great in the domestic market. As expected, the film enjoys great popularity mainly because of its original Tamil language. According to media reports, Ponniyin Selvan 1 has gross accumulated 3.15 million from day 1 of advance booking.
It is all set to hit the 2 lakh mark in ticket sales soon as far as the Tamil version is concerned. The magnum opus is expected to hit a huge final number and will soon hit the 10 billion mark.
Vikram Vedha, on the other hand, has accumulated 45 lakhs through advance bookings across the country. From here Rs 6.70 crores gross is expected to be booked in advance for opening day.
Additionally, Vikram Vedha will have the largest international distribution for a Hindi film, with a record-breaking 100+ countries worldwide. Ahead of its release, the film has garnered worldwide interest and appeal, and many countries have already started pre-sales.
Interestingly, the creators of Vikram Vedha have opted for balanced ticket prices. This strategy will help attract more visitors in the coming days.
