Virat Kohli becomes first captain to score 6,500


New Delhi: India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batting icon Virat Kohli left many records under his name when his team took on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) on Thursday, April 20.

48th fifty for Virat Kohli

RCB was captained by Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis was used as a batsman against PBKS. While opening with Kohli, regular skipper Faf du Plessis hit the PBKS plate all over the park. Skipper Virat also scored his 48th half-century in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

First captain to score 6500 runs in IPL

The 34-year-old batsman is RCB’s second highest scorer against Punjab in the IPL. Virat also achieved a special feat of rewriting history in the Indian T20 Championship. Kohli became the first batsman to score 6500 runs as captain in IPL. Kohli achieved the astonishing feat in 186 innings.

3rd batsman 600 fours

The batting icon also joined Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner in an elite list. Kohli is the third batsman to hit 600 fours in the world’s richest T20 tournament. Warner has hit 608 fours in the world’s richest T20 league, while Punjab Kings skipper Dhawan has hit 730 fours in his incredible IPL career.
