New Delhi: A video of a Madras High Court lawyer, who was seen in an objectionable position with a woman during the hearing through video conferencing, has surfaced on social media. Acting on the indecent incident, the Madras High Court has ordered a CB-CID probe against the lawyer and also initiated contempt of court proceedings against him.
The CB-CID has been asked to take suo motu cognizance of an FIR against advocate RD Santhana Krishnan.
The High Court had suspended the advocate from practicing law in all courts, tribunals and other authorities in India.

“When such brazen obscenity is displayed in public in the midst of court proceedings, the court cannot afford to remain a mute spectator and turn a blind eye to Nelson,” the bench said on Tuesday. It also directed the police to stop the circulation of video clips on social media, purportedly showing the lawyer in an intimate position with a woman, while the trial was going on virtually.
The judges also directed the Tamil Nadu Bar Council to take appropriate disciplinary action against Krishnan.
