#WATCH Kanpur: SP workers vandalise BJP activist’s car in protest against PM Modi’s visit


Kanpur: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, where he inaugurated the first phase of the Kanpur Metro, some miscreants who belonged to the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party were seen vandalizing a BJP worker’s car in the city.

The video showed office bearers of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha raising slogans against the BJP government and burning effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. They also vandalized the car of a BJP worker carrying party flags and a banner welcoming the prime minister.

Students of Samajwadi Party’s student union were protesting near Naubasta vegetable market.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister inaugurated the completed section of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project and took a Metro ride. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were also present.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the 9 km long section of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project spans from IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel. The entire length of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project is 32 km and is being built at a cost of over Rs 11,000 crore. Kanpur Metro is going to be the fastest metro project in the country.

The Prime Minister also addressed the 54th Convocation of IIT Kanpur. He also launched a blockchain-based digital degree at the convocation.
