Srinagar: A major accident in Srinagar was averted on Friday when the Bomb Disposal Squad acted in time to detonate a grenade kept inside a pressure cooker. The grenade was found in a suspicious bag in Khwaja Bazar Chowk area of Srinagar district of Kashmir.
A top police officer told News24 that a grenade was found inside the cooker because after the BDS detonated it, a grenade lever was found.
The official further said that the traffic which was suspended earlier has been restored.
Earlier, a suspicious bag containing a pressure cooker was found at Khwaja Bazar Chowk in Srinagar and some wires were visible outside the bag.

Also, IED was found in an unclaimed bag at Ghazipur flower market in East Delhi around Friday afternoon. The squad blew this explosive in an open area.
