Bangalore: In Karnataka, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids at several places and recovered Rs. 13 lakh from a drainage pipe in the house of PWD (Public Works Department) junior engineer in Kalaburagi.

In the video, ACB officials can be seen withdrawing several rupees. 500 notes kept in the drainage pipe of Junior Engineer.

ACB’s North Eastern Range SP Mahesh Meghnawar said, “A total of Rs 54 lakh in cash was recovered during the raid, in which Rs 13 lakh was recovered from a drainage pipe from the house of a junior engineer of PWD.”

On 24 November, 15 government officials of various departments were searched by the ACB at 68 locations across Karnataka as part of a probe into alleged disproportionate assets. Teams carried out searches at the homes and offices of officials and their relatives in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Mandya and in some districts.

The raids were carried out amid a massive operation at the Bangalore Development Authority’s (BDA) headquarters and other offices in Bengaluru.

The properties of KS Lingagowda, Executive Engineer, Mangaluru Smart City Limited were raided; Revenue Inspector Laxminarashimaiya in Doddaballapur; Srinivas K, Executive Engineer, Hemavati Left Bank Canal (HLBC), Mandya; Vasudev, former project manager of the construction centre; B Krishnareddy, general manager of Nandini Milk Products, Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF); AK Masti, Cooperative Development Officer in Savadatti Town; Sadashiv Maralingannavar, Senior Motor Inspector at Gokak; Group C employee of Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM) Nathji Hiraji Patil and others.
