Bangalore: Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar lost his cool when his supporters walked up to him to take selfies with him. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The incident took place at Shivpura in Mandya on Tuesday when Shivakumar had gone there to attend an event. Shivakumar got angry and lost his cool when he suddenly saw a party supporter coming close to him and tried to take a selfie without his consent. The Congress leader then snatched the person’s mobile phone and shouted at him for this act. He said to the man, “Don’t you have common sense.”
Shivakumar later said, “We don’t know what might be in one’s hands. You know what happened to Rajiv Gandhi. Sometimes, human anger and emotions come out, there’s nothing wrong with that. “
He further said that attempting to take a selfie without consent was a security breach.
Shivakumar also said that no one can take a picture with him without his permission. He said it was not clear what an individual’s intention might have been.
The Karnataka Congress leader said, “We have to be alert. I am worried about my safety. Tomorrow it could be a gangster or an extremist who will broadcast my picture and claim to the Sangh.”
For those unaware, this is not the first time, Shivakumar has lost his cool against selfie seekers. A few months back, the Congress leader slapped another supporter who tried to take a selfie with him. In his justification, the Congress chief said that the man was a close relative and he would have no objection to it.
