Weather update, forecast: dry weather prevails


Weather update, forecast: The Department of Meteorology on Saturday forecast the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon in the next three days from some other parts of northwest and central India, according to Skymeetweather update.

According to the Meteorological Department, for the next 24 hours, the weather is expected to remain dry in western Himalayas, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, most parts of Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.

Weather conditions in Delhi-NCR areas remain moderate. There are chances of higher temperatures on the pretext of Diwali. The level of pollution is also expected to rise.

Due to the continuous flow of northwesterly winds over northwest and central India, conditions are becoming favorable for monsoon withdrawals from some other parts of northwest and central India very soon.

Cyclone continues over Komoren and its neighbourhood.

Another cyclone rotates over the central Bay of Bengal and extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.

There is cyclonic circulation over the eastern central Arabian Sea near the Konkan coast and Goa between 3.1 and 5.8 km above sea level.

Weather activity in the last 24 hours across India:

During the last 24 hours light to moderate rains with a few bouts of heavy rain fell on Kerala, southern inland Karnataka, Telangana, southern Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar islands and in one or two places in Gangtik district of West Bengal.

Light to moderate rain fell on eastern Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, coastal Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, parts of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Lakshadweep.

Light rain fell over the rest of Northeast India, the semi-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, inland Odisha, coastal Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir.

Light to moderate rain in these countries

During the next 24 hours, the weather is expected to remain dry in western Himalayas, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, most parts of Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.

Light to moderate rains with few bouts of heavy spells are possible over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Karnataka, Rialasema, parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Light to moderate rains may occur with one or two heavy bouts on the coast of Odisha and southern Chhattisgarh.

Light to moderate rain is likely over inland Odisha, part of Vidarbha, northern Madhya Maharashtra, Lakshadweep, part of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur.

Light rain is likely in one or two places in North Chhattisgarh, Gangtik, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
