“We’re staying here tonight…” says Matthew Wade

New Delhi: Australia won against Afghanistan by 4 runs and kept their semi-final hopes alive. However, Rashid Khan has hurt the hosts’ chances with his NRR.

After the win, Australia captain Matthew Wade said: “We gave Stoinis the last over, having the all-rounder to bowl the last over is quite stressful. I played him in IPL and I have seen do it 3-4 times. But I never felt completely confident at any point. We’ll stay here tonight and watch tomorrow’s game, expect an upset.”

“We have put ourselves in this position from the start, we have been slow in this tournament and we hope it will not cost us. David was very close to the selection tonight and we are very hopeful for them [David and Finch] it will come if we get there,” he added.
