What to expect from a new car


Maruti Suzuki is on a launch frenzy. India’s largest automaker is updating its car lineup with generational updates, facelifts and more. Next in line is its entry-level hatchback, Alto. The 2022 Alto will be launched next month. The Alto will get a new look, bringing it in line with the new Celerio. Expect some tweaks under the hood as well. What we know about the new Alto 2022

Maruti Suzuki will continue to sell the 2022 Alto under the Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership. The new Alto will be larger in size compared to the old model. The new sedan will draw a lot of inspiration from the new Celerio. It should be bigger and longer than the existing version. The leaked images also gave us a look at the exterior of the car. Celerio will receive a large Celerio-inspired grille. To go along with the bigger grille, the car will get bigger swept headlights. Instead of the sloping roofline, the new Alto could have a higher rear profile using a flat roofline.

In terms of interiors, it will borrow heavily from the Celerio and S-Presso. Considering that Alto will be taller and have a flatter roofline, the car will have more cabin space. The dashboard and the center console will also be revised in the center console. The new version will come with a touchscreen infotainment display. The MID can also be semi-digital. Additionally, the Alto can come with keyless entry, engine start and stop button and more.

In terms of powertrain options, Maruti could launch both the 800cc Alto engine and the 1-litre Alto K-10 engine. While most power figures should be the same as the older BS6 version. The 796cc engine could produce 47hp of power and 69Nm of torque. It will receive a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The new Alto K10 will get the 998cc engine with K10C engine. This engine produces 66 hp of power and 89 Nm of torque. This variant will receive an automatic gearbox.
