‘Will keep fighting for truth’: Navjot Singh Sidhu after resigning as Punjab Congress chief

Sidhu on Wednesday posted a new video on his official Twitter handle in Hindi with a caption that read: Will fight for rights and truth till the last breath.

New Delhi: A day after resigning from the post of Punjab Congress chief, Navjot Singh Sidhu said that he is fighting for a cause and he will not settle on those grounds. Sidhu on Wednesday posted a new video on his official Twitter handle in Hindi with the caption: “Will fight for rights and truth till my last breath”.

In the video, Sidhu says, “It is a fight for rights and truth. I cannot mislead the high command. The system of tainted officers cannot be recreated. When principles are attacked, there should be a fight. Alive, you must look alive. This is not my personal fight. The fight for the betterment of Punjab continues. I will fight till the end. There will be no compromise. Sidhu further said, “My 17 years of political career has a mission: to bring change, for the betterment of Punjab. To stand in life and stand by it.”

Earlier yesterday, in a surprise development, Sidhu resigned as the Congress’s Punjab unit chief. “The downfall of a man’s character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise with the future of Punjab and the agenda of the welfare of Punjab. Therefore, I hereby resign from the post of President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Service of Congress I will continue to do so.” Sidhu said this in his resignation letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Captain Amarinder Singh, who called Sidhu ‘dangerous’ and ‘traitor’, reacted immediately. He tweeted, “I told you, he is not a stable person and not fit for the border state of Punjab.”
