“Working With 6 Captains In 8 Months Wasn’t In The Plan…”: Rahul Dravid Laughs

New Delhi: Team India head coach Rahul Dravid shared his experience of working with the national team and said that it has been fun but things are going exactly according to plan.

Dravid joined the team in November last year when Ravi Shastri’s tenure came to an end. Since then Team India has been registering victories in white ball series against New Zealand, Sri Lanka and West Indies. However, the Men in Blue were disappointed on their tour of South Africa in December last year.

Talking about the performance of the team and the experience of coaching with them, Dravid said that it has been challenging but also fun.

“It’s been exciting, it’s been great fun. The journey has also been challenging, there have probably been six captains I’ve had to work with in the last eight months, which might not have been the plan when I first started out. But The nature of COVID and the nature of the many games we are playing,” Dravid said before the start of the 5th T20I game between India and South Africa.

“You know managing the team, managing the workload of the players and also some changes in the captaincy, so it means I got to work with a few guys, it has been challenging but also a lot of fun. ”

“Many other people have had opportunities to lead and make more leaders in the group for us. As a group, we are constantly learning, and in the last 8-10 months have had the opportunity to try more people, Which I think has been great. If I look back in the last 8 months, South Africa was disappointing in terms of Test series,” he concluded.
