Yuzvendra Chahal surpasses Lasith Malinga..

New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals (RR) star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has overtaken former Mumbai Indians (MI) Lasith Malinga to become the second-best wicket-taker in Indian Football League (IPL) history.

The 32-year-old spinner removed Punjab Kings (PBKS) wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma on Wednesday, April 5, to achieve a huge career milestone. Chahal now has 171* wickets in 133 IPL matches, while Malinga, who has played his entire IPL career with Mumbai Indians, has scored 170 wickets in 122 matches in the premier domestic tournament. Interestingly, Malinga is the bowling coach of Chahal’s IPL team RR.

Chahal removes Jitesh Sharma

Chahal who was the holder of the Purple Cap in the 15th edition of the IPL. He came to the final over and Shikhar Dhawan was hit for a four and then turned the strike to Jitesh Sharma.

Chahal bowled a yorker and Jitesh tried to play it for a six but was favored by Riyan Parag who completed the catch. The latter fell to 27(16).

Chahal is only behind former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legendary all-rounder DJ Bravo who took 183 wickets in 161 matches.
