NCB Deputy Director General, SK Singh said, “Acting on an input, the NCB recovered around 50 kg of MD drugs hidden in a godown in Mumbai. Two people arrested including the gang leader, both the accused arrested are from Mumbai.
Naval Intelligence Unit of Jamnagar has shared information regarding the sale of MD drugs in Gujarat.
Singh further said, “Initially, information regarding sale of MD drugs in Gujarat was shared by Naval Intelligence Unit of Jamnagar, Gujarat. This input was jointly developed by NCB and Naval Intelligence Unit and was about 10.350 hrs. KG MD drugs was confiscated and 4 people were arrested.

The arrested accused has been identified as Sohail Ghaffar. He had earlier worked as a pilot for Air India and informed the Deputy Director General of NCB. He said, “One of those arrested in Jamnagar has been identified as Sohail Ghaffar, who was a pilot with Air India from 2016-18. Preliminary investigations have shown that there is a similar relationship between the two seizures. The value of the total seized (60 kg) MD medicine is around 120 crores.
The NCB seized 60 kg of high quality Mephedrone (MD) worth around Rs 120 crore, busted the syndicate and arrested six people, including the kingpin, from several cities.
