Rajasthan Royals’ young batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has added another remarkable chapter to his growing legacy in the Indian Premier League 2026 season. The teenager achieved a major milestone at a record-breaking speed, surpassing the long-standing benchmark set by Chris Gayle. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fastest 500 runs in IPL is now one of the most talked-about records in the tournament.
The left-handed batter became the fastest player in IPL history to reach 500 runs, achieving the feat in just 227 balls. In doing so, he went past the previous record held by Glenn Maxwell, who had taken 260 deliveries to reach the same mark.
In another significant achievement, Sooryavanshi also became the youngest cricketer to reach 500 runs in the tournament. At just 15 years and 26 days, he comfortably eclipsed the earlier record held by Prithvi Shaw, who had reached the milestone at 19 years and 164 days.
Interestingly, the milestone came during Rajasthan Royals’ clash against Lucknow Super Giants, where the youngster did not register a big score. However, even a brief innings was enough for him to cross the landmark and secure his place in IPL record books.
Sooryavanshi’s rapid rise has been one of the standout stories of IPL 2026. Already among the leading run-scorers this season, his aggressive strike rate and consistency at the top order have made him a key player for Rajasthan Royals.
The teenage sensation’s achievement highlights not just his talent but also the changing dynamics of T20 cricket, where young players continue to redefine records at an unprecedented pace.
