India has made an early start at the Asian Games 2026, winning six medals in Aichi-Nagoya so far. The Asian Games 2026 medal tally includes four silver and two bronze medals, with shooting accounting for five podium finishes and Suchika Tariyal adding India’s first Asian Games medal in MMA.

Who has won medals for India at Asian Games 2026?
Shooting has dominated India’s early medal count in Aichi-Nagoya. Elavenil Valarivan has won two silver medals, while Himanshu Dhillon has also collected an individual silver after helping India’s men’s 10m air rifle team finish second.
Rudrankksh Patil has added a bronze in the men’s 10m air rifle individual event after winning silver as part of the team.
Suchika Tariyal then added India’s sixth medal with a bronze in the women’s traditional 60kg MMA event on September 21.

Suchika’s result also has a place in Asian Games history. MMA is making its Asian Games debut at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, making her India’s first medallist in the sport at the continental event.
How does India’s 2026 start compare with Hangzhou?
It is still too early to compare the final performances because Aichi-Nagoya has only just begun.
India won five medals on the opening day at Hangzhou, including three silver and two bronze. By the end of Day 2, India’s tally had increased to 11 medals, comprising two gold, three silver and six bronze.
At Aichi-Nagoya, India had two silver medals after the opening day. The country added more shooting medals on September 20 before Tariyal’s MMA bronze took the tally to six on September 21.
