Young Delhi Capitals all-rounder Madhav Tiwari emerged as one of the talking points during the IPL 2026 clash against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala on Monday after dismissing in-form opener Priyansh Arya.
The 21-year-old pace-bowling all-rounder was included in Delhi Capitals’ playing XI for the important fixture and made an immediate impact with the ball. Madhav removed Priyansh Arya after the Punjab Kings batter had looked dangerous during the powerplay overs.
Born in Mauganj village in Madhya Pradesh, Madhav Tiwari is considered one of the promising young all-rounders from the state cricket circuit. Despite not making his senior domestic debut yet, he managed to earn attention through performances in junior and franchise-level competitions.
Delhi Capitals had picked Madhav Tiwari for ₹40 lakh during the IPL mega auction ahead of the 2025 season. He had previously featured in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League, representing Bhopal Leopards, where his aggressive batting and useful medium pace attracted scouts.
The youngster has also represented Madhya Pradesh at Under-19 and Under-23 levels. Reports stated that he produced notable performances in the CK Nayudu Trophy, including multiple half-centuries.
Against Punjab Kings, Madhav Tiwari handled the pressure well and delivered a disciplined spell for Delhi Capitals. His wicket of Priyansh Arya became one of the major moments of the innings as DC searched for a crucial victory in IPL 2026.
