Prateek Yadav autopsy reveals lung clot caused death, report mentions six injuries

The autopsy report of Prateek Yadav has revealed that a blood clot in the lungs led to his death, according to media reports published on Wednesday. The report also documented six injuries on different parts of his body.

Prateek Yadav, the younger son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and half-brother of Akhilesh Yadav, died in Lucknow at the age of 38 earlier on Wednesday.

According to the post-mortem findings, the injuries were found on his chest, under the right arm, right forearm, right elbow joint, over the elbow and left wrist. The report reportedly stated that three of the injuries were around five to seven days old, while the remaining injuries were about a day old.

Medical findings cited in the report identified pulmonary thromboembolism, a condition caused by blockage in lung arteries due to blood clots, as the cause behind cardiorespiratory failure. Samples have also reportedly been preserved for further examination.

Earlier reports had indicated that Prateek Yadav had been dealing with lung-related health complications and had undergone treatment at a private hospital in Lucknow on multiple occasions.

Despite belonging to one of Uttar Pradesh’s most prominent political families, Prateek Yadav largely stayed away from active politics and was known for his interest in fitness and business ventures.

Several political leaders, including Yogi Adityanath, expressed condolences following his death.
